This remarkable wine has been receiving very good reviews and was strongly recommended to us in the first instance. Chianti and pasta almost have to be said in the same breath and this wine also pairs well with all red meats and cheeses. It is also light enough to be enjoyed simply on its own
We absolutely love the Regional reserve wines from the Australian De Bortilo winery. Their wines are distinctive and top-drawer, and this Shiraz is no exception. Please try you will not be disappointed.
Dry, Red, Still wine
99.7% Shiraz, 0.1% Petit Verdot, 0.1% Mataro, 0.1% Viognier
Deep purple with a ruby-red edge. Layers of ripe dark fruits, violets and spice. The palate is full of dense dark fruits, hints of cedar with supple tannins.
The De Bortoli family story is one of determination and triumph that started 90 years ago and is now told, generations later, across Australia. Our heritage encompasses the universal story of immigrants making good in an adopted land, the rise and rise of the Australian wine industry and the tale of a hardworking and innovative family who considers good wine, good food and good friends to be among the true pleasures in life. Today, as a fourth generation enters the family business, De Bortoli is amongst the top wine producers in Australia with vineyards spanning 6 premium wine regions.
