This selection of great value red wines doesn’t skimp on quality, with these six carefully selected bottles proving very popular this year. In this selection, we’re taking you around the world from Europe to Australia and across the Pacific to South America with two bottles of the full-bodied Argentinean Malbec and one smooth Chilean Merlot. From Italy, we have another Merlot, and we’ve added an Australian Shiraz Viognier, a very easy-going Australian Shiraz blend. And as if that wasn’t enough, we have an up-and-coming Spanish Tempranillo which we think you will fall in love with.

Wonderful on its own, with red meat or cheese, Equino’s medium-bodied Malbec is soft and silky with the grape-typical taste of dark fruit complemented by the wine’s natural acidity. Two full-bodied reds come in the form of I Castelli’s Cabernet Sauvignon, which has a pleasant bouquet of raspberry and spices, and the Luna Azul Merlot which provides hints of chocolate. Studio 1’s award-winning Australian Shiraz Viogner is incredibly rich and ripe with aromas of violet and bramble fruit on the palate; bramble fruits also take centre stage in our Argentinian Malbec from Camarada. We’ve rounded off this case of great value recommended red wines with Amigo de La Tierra’s Garnacha Tempranillo, which is a lovely, easy-drinking wine with a lively palate.
